Senior Sous Chef - Inflight Catering

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our inflight team located at Mascot. 

Having exposure to numerous areas and working within a fully equipped professional facility, you will be responsible for assisting in managing the operational and service aspects of the kitchen whilst also managing the training and development of the brigade.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Commercial Cookery Certificate
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Sous Chef in previous position
  • Strong passionate leader with a proven ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • A strong understanding of safe food handling procedures, and health & safety procedures
  • Able to communicate clearly and possess a good command of verbal and written English

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Event Manager to join our team and continue driving our success by managing sales, orchestrating and executing events and assisting in building a fantastic business while offering the highest levels of customer service. 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, coordinating, delivery and promotion of events
  • Forecasting the logistics for successful event delivery
  • Providing consultation across departments to ensure effective delivery of events and engagement is maximised and leveraged to full capacity
  • Working within budget and deadlines to meet high operational standards
  • Managing the production and creation of event/marketing/promotional collateral
  • Designing and implementing operational procedures.

To be considered for this role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Marketing or Business Administration
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in end to end event planning, management and delivery
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective event marketing and promotional plans
  • Previous Management experience
  • A self-motivated starter
  • Strong administration and Microsoft office skills including Powerpoint
  • Experience with using Events based software, and management of that software

Quality Assurance Officer

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team who will assist with the monitoring of products and processes, auditing, compliance with legislation and other QA related responsibilities.

Reporting to the QA Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all QA statutory and regulatory regulations are met (Food Act, Health Act etc)
  • Enforce food safety and hygiene standards by educating staff through improved methods of training and daily interactions
  • Assist in maintaining and improving the existing Quality Management System
  • Assist in all QA related audits and close out corrective actions within required deadlines.
  • Participate in internal GMP audits and external audits
  • Assist with investigation and responses to customer complaints

To be eligible for the role you will have:

  • Bachelor of Food Science and Technology and/or other related studies or working towards
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Practical understanding of HACCP and FSS legislation and requirements
  • Exceptional problem solving and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong PC skills – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Ability to work within a seven day roster

Production Plating Team Leader

An exceptional opportunity for a Production Plating Team Leader has become available to join our dynamic, growing and professional medium size organisation. The role is for a fixed-term period concluding December 2019 with a review for extension. 

Providing First and Business class food to two major airlines, this position will involve the following:

  • Assist the Production Manager and Supervisor in leading and supervising plating assistants and the overall production for all airlines meal orders in a timely manner 
  • Ensure all meals are correctly prepared, plated and packaged
  • Ensure that the preparation of food is hygienic and prepared in accordance with company quality standards, Food Safety Standards, and HACCP requirements. 
  • Liaising with Production Kitchen Chefs/Cooks ensuring food products are cooked and prepared ready for plating production

General Farm Hand

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a General Farmhand reporting directly to the Senior Horticulturalist.

The successful applicant will work with our team in our market garden and free range chicken enterprises. We are seeking an applicant who, like us, is passionate about organic and sustainable agriculture. Horticultural training and skills are important but not essential as training will be provided. We need somebody who is motivated and enthusiastic and keen to learn. They must be fit and healthy as they will be required to work physically in an outdoor environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance of the farm
  • House cleaning
  • Assistant in managing the chicken and egg production
  • Care taking of the paddocks – moving the lawn and slashing and manually eradicating noxious weeds
  • Checking water and ensuring it is turned on
  • Moving of the chicken caravans, collecting and grading the eggs for transportation

General maintenance and handyman experience would be advantageous. No accommodation provided, local person preferred.
